DESKTOP Task Manager The Task Manager allows you to perform a number of useful functions. You launch the Task Manager by first pressing Ctrl+Alt+Del which brings up the Windows Security window. The Windows Security window gives some handy options such as:
Clicking on the Task Manager button launches the Task Manger. The Task Manager contains many system monitoring functions but the main one we'll discuss here is the Applications tab in the Task Manager window. When clicked this tab will show you all the programs that are currently running on your system and their current status. When a program is frozen and is not responding to your mouse clicks, this is where you will come to terminate that application. If a particular application is not functioning the Task Manager will display a message of Not Responding in its respective column. Simply click on the bad application's name to highlight it then click the End Task button on the lower left. This will terminate the problem application while leaving the rest of your system intact. |
